Amy hung

Amy Hung joined STEAMS back in 2015 in the Cupertino site. Through STEAMS, Amy won 1st Place in the national ASA Data Visualization Poster Competition as the project leader. She attended University of California, Berkeley and majored in EECS (Electrical Engineering & Computer Science). Amy graduated from Lynbrook High School in 2016.
BILL ZHU

Bill Zhu began attending STEAMS in 2014 and was part of the first cohort of students in the Milpitas branch. With STEAMS, Bill passed the IASSC Yellow Belt, IBM SPSS Statistics Level I, II, and SPSS Modeler Level I certifications, received a 5 on the AP Statistics exam, and partook in the HiMCM (High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling). He attended Harvey Mudd College, majoring in Computer Science. Bill graduated from Lynbrook High School in 2017.

Victor Zhu started attending STEAMS in 2016, through which he competed in HiMCM (High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling) and prepared for the AP Statistics exam. He attended Purdue University, majoring in Computer Science. Victor graduated from Lynbrook High School in 2017.
JASON LI

Jason Li attended STEAMS in 2015 in the Palo Alto branch. Through STEAMS, he competed in HiMCM (High School Mathematics Contest in Modeling) and prepared for the AP Statistics exam. Most notably, he conducted more than 5 projects, published more than 10 papers, and attended more than 7 conferences. Jason placed 4th in the 2017 IEOM Conference and 7th in the 2018 STEAMS Conference. He attended New York University, majoring in business. Jason graduated from San Mateo High School in 2018.

Anna Wu attended STEAMS in 2018 and published five papers, with the majority of them from her highly successful project, Starbucks and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention. Placing 2nd in the 2018 STEAMS Conference, this project was the one of the most decorated project of STEAMS in terms of awards and publications. Anna currently attends University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in neuroscience and minoring in musicology. She graduated from Mission San Jose High School in 2019.
Joseph Jang

Joseph Jang attended STEAMS in the summer of 2015 in the Cupertino site. He published several papers with his innovative project, Statistical JAVA Gaming Simulation. In addition to being invited as a keynote speech to many conferences, this project won 1st in the 2017 IEOM Conference., and the extension won 3rd place at the 2018 STEAMS Conference. Joseph published papers in the 2017 IEOM, 2018 IEOM, and 2018 IWSM conferences. Graduating from Monta Vista High School in 2020, he currently attends University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, majoring in computer science.
Alan Yao

Joining the first wave of students in 2015, Alan Yao attended STEAMS for many years. In addition to collaborating with several other students, he worked on a project titled Predicting NBA Winning Percentages through Regression Analysis, which won 1st place in the 2018 IEOM Conference and 3rd place in the 2018 STEAMS Conference. Before its retirement from competition in 2019, this project was also presented at the 2019 STEAMS Conference and the 2019 ASA JSM Conference. He graduated from Mission San Jose High School in 2020 and currently studies computer science and statistics at University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign.
Julianne Chiu

Originally from Taiwan, Julianne Chiu began attending in STEAMS during the summer of 2018. She published her first paper on lower back pain through the 2019 ASA JSM Conference. She also led many activities in STEAMS such as helping coordinate the 2019 STEAMS conference and working with several elementary students through the Taiwan branch on a video game project that was published. Julianne graduated from Taipei First Girl's High School in 2020, and she currently attends University of California, Davis with a major in biological sciences.
